Ping Pong has got it going on.
I was lovin up this film. From the slow motion action shots and close-ups of the ball grazing the net, to the dripping of sweat and tears to the dramatic pounding of the piano keys in the critical moments of the match, ping-pong has never been more intense. Yet at the same time there was silly humor and inspiring relationships that really made this movie meaningful. I loved the hero element of the movie. I love that Peco only became his best when he realized his worth, something that Smile knew about Peco all along. The movie wasn’t really about ping-pong, it could have been synchnronized swimming but the message would have been the same: it’s not about winning. It’s about being a hero to someone else and having the passion and drive to do well at something, simply because you really love the way you feel when you do it.
