Finding Stuff--Laura Coalwell

I'm always inspired by ads that have really powerful copy in voice overs. Sometimes that can be cheesy, but I like this one a lot.

I thought this video was fitting since Veteran's Day was last week.

Go Army.

sadly my last finding stuff for this blog- Elise Meservy

Too bad my elementary school music teacher wasn't so inspiring and since then I never had the desire to be in an sort of choir. If only I had this school's choir teacher. Now that's creativity, enthusiasm, and a brilliant/passionate teacher.

Enjoy only the best elementary school choir ever.

ps check out that kid drummer. legit.

and this is because I found yet another kindle ad which stole my heart. love it and I think it might have changed my negative opinion about kindles. hope it inspires you for your ikea campaigns.

Finding--Laura Coalwell--Oh hey watch this video

Soo...this is my shameless plug telling you all to vote for Tipping Bucket today.

Start here
Vote all 3 ways.
Check off your good deed for the day.
Brag about it to all your friends and tell them to vote, too!

This is why I do advertising. This is the kind of stuff that keeps my blood running and my feet moving even when I'm running on little to no sleep.

For the Doodler in You -( Finding #10 -Elise Meservy )

I love to doodle. If you looked in my binder you would see random drawings displaced upon the pages. So, I found a few sites that allow you to indulge your doodling self in creative ways and without overtaking your notebook.

Finding #9--Laura Coalwell

Leo Burnett's "I'm In" Campaign for Detroit Public Schools--

Droga5's "Million" Campaign for NYC Public Schools--

I'm always so touched by ad campaigns that are about more than increasing sales or even just plain creativity. I love when there is some other reason driving the people working on the campaign.

These two campaigns are so inspiring. Education is so important, and Leo Burnett and Droga5 took their respective challenges and ran with it.

Finding #8--Laura Coalwell

Be warned, some of these are more tragic than I remember.

I remember seeing these pictures a few years ago and thinking how interesting they were. It shows such a harsh contrast between fairy tale and reality. I still can't decide how I feel about some of them, but it makes me think.

Finding #8 -- Elise Meservy

I just stumbled upon these commercials earlier this week while watching an online show. And even after the 10th time watching these commercials, I still find them fun and still even laugh at the easter bunny's reaction in the second commercial. But probably what I like most about them is that the concept is especially clear.

It's unbelievable. enjoy.

Finding #7--Laura Coalwell

I saw this for the first time last summer. I love the music and the whole concept.

It's so simple, but clear at the same time.

Finding Gueriall Advertising - Elise Meservy

I stumbled upon these cool guerilla billboard ads for Jaipurfoot prosthetic legs. I think they are absolutely brilliant. What do you think?

And since I have been in Las Vegas for the last 5 days, check this tactic out:

Thought that was clever and fun.

Finding #6-Gusher for an Eye--Laura Coalwell

So... we saw this at Saatchi & Saatchi in New York. And considering I'd gotten less than 5 hours of sleep the night before, I wasn't a huge fan.

But after watching it the second time, it was actually pretty funny.
In a weird, sort of gross kind of way.

So enjoy.

And if you can stomach it, buy a pack of gushers afterwards.

A Sticky Situation - Elise Meservy

Have any of you heard of Seattle's famous gum wall?! I hadn't until I saw a picture of it in a National Geographic Magazine. The picture intrigued me, so I wanted to learn more.

The more I look for art, the more I find that art can be anything. It can even be something as nasty and annoying as chewed up gum turned into something colorful and artsy.

Finding Stuff 5- Elise Meservy "Banned Ad"

If you haven't already seen this ad then you are missing out. This Xbox 360 ad was banned, yet I think it has still done a lot of good for Xbox because it want viral.

For someone who doesn't usually play video games, after watching this ad, I really want to. It shows Xbox games and its newer, more improved controls (at that time) in a new way.

I really think this ad is brilliant. I love it and I kind of want to play that game with some people sometime.

Finding #5-Laura Coalwell--Shaytards

My friend Bob showed me this vlog the other day. The Shaytards post about their lives, their funny kids, and the most random stuff.

And they have a TON of followers.
It always boggles my mind how viral videos get so...well, viral. I know there is a strategy behind it, but the power of word of mouth is incredible.

It all really got started when "Shaycarl" decided to post one vlog each day for a year.

Anyway, it's just so interesting to me how the simplest ideas can become so widespread and well known.

Oh and they have a pretty sweet theme song.

Oh The Things You Can Do With Your Hands- Finding Stuff 4 -Elise Meservy

Hands are phenomenal. With them we can hold our cereal spoon, write a letter, play the piano, dry a tear, or help a friend up. Oppositely with hands we can also pick our noses, slap someone's cheek, or pull a trigger.

Here are some of the fantastically unique things people have come up with using our hands for:

and

What can you do with your hands? Or better yet, what will you do with your hands?

Finding #4-Laura Coalwell-Refryclators

Some cool creative kids at Leo Burnett decided to raise awareness about their client's refrigerator recycling program, by commissioning 9 local artists to make masterpieces out of old ice boxes.

I think this is such a cool idea. I love when people are able to create something beautiful with old, used materials.

And this is what they came up with...

Finding#3-Laura Coalwell-Breathe

This is not an ad.
But it's still advertising, in a way.

It's a music video.
But it's also a PSA.
A personal advertisement for a few good americans who are out of work.
And a message of hope.

youtube won't let me embed this video, but seriously, watch it.
