Finding #5: Emily Jacobsen: Clever Branding

I created a bulletin board collection of inspirational creative logos, names, and branding. I can't wait till my illustrator skills are fully developed and I can start creating all of the ideas I have stuck in my head! I love trying to come up with new names and branding strategies for existing companies. I'd love to work someplace like Eat My Words. I collected a whole bunch, but these are a few of my favorites:
Snooty Peacock Jewelry Boutique, Ryan Russell, Ryan Russell Design

Home Pregnancy Test, named by Eat My Words
Newscreen Energy, by András Sántha, Ecoart

Quickcook Delivery, by András Sántha

Dish the Dirt Public Relations, by Meagan Ryan, freelance

Finding Stuff #5 --Marie Lewis

I wandered across this little treasure a few days ago:

Finding 5 Tyler Nelson

I think graffiti is pretty cool to look at when it isn't just someones name or a gang name. In many ways graffiti could be considered art, and in many ways graffiti is just plain annoying, unoriginal, and destructive to property. In this case I think it would be considered art. I just hope it wasn't done in a spot where it was unwanted. Check it out...

Finding Stuff - Scott Talbot

Here's a really interesting video about advertising I found on TED Talks. It's pretty insightful and funny. The guy, Rory, is a VP at Ogilvy.

Finding Stuff 5- Elise Meservy "Banned Ad"

If you haven't already seen this ad then you are missing out. This Xbox 360 ad was banned, yet I think it has still done a lot of good for Xbox because it want viral.

For someone who doesn't usually play video games, after watching this ad, I really want to. It shows Xbox games and its newer, more improved controls (at that time) in a new way.

I really think this ad is brilliant. I love it and I kind of want to play that game with some people sometime.

Rainbow Connection (McKenna)

I'm sure a lot of you have already seen these gorgeous commercials for Sony Bravia, but I thought I should share them here anyways:

These commercials contain such a simple concept (show color) but they are so visually stunning.  Also, the makers of these commercials went to great lengths to do these without special effects, thus truly making them "like no other."

Finding #5-Laura Coalwell--Shaytards

My friend Bob showed me this vlog the other day. The Shaytards post about their lives, their funny kids, and the most random stuff.

And they have a TON of followers.
It always boggles my mind how viral videos get so...well, viral. I know there is a strategy behind it, but the power of word of mouth is incredible.

It all really got started when "Shaycarl" decided to post one vlog each day for a year.

Anyway, it's just so interesting to me how the simplest ideas can become so widespread and well known.

Oh and they have a pretty sweet theme song.
