Jane Fonda said, ""Style" is an expression of individualism mixed with charisma. Fashion is something that comes after style." We talked in class about how we each need to develop our own style when it comes to advertising. I think that type of style is definitely like fashion style- it should become our personal and unique voice. I also thought it interesting, looking at these pictures, how there are some similarities but no two looks are the same. It reminded me of how Foster (our book's author) talked about thousands of solutions to every problem. Fashion has always been excellent at evolving, inventing, and adapting- we should try to do the same.
Coco Chanel said, "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."
That is really insightful.
ReplyDeleteGracias.
Yeah, I was in a really philosophical mood haha :P
ReplyDeleteI love looking at people's style. It really does tell a lot about them. Is it just me or does anybody else tend to think that advertising students (or comm students in general) tend to have more or their own unique style compared to most? Not as a whole, but as individuals. ps i love your coco chanel quote.seriously legit.-EliseM
ReplyDeleteI love that you could see what kids are wearing all over the world! Super cool!
ReplyDeleteYea cool to see all the styles. Did you find them all on the same site or did you have to go to several different sites?

ReplyDeleteCrap I accidentally deleted my post.
ReplyDeleteThis site does exactly what companies pay thousands of dollars to market researchers to do! They pay to locate the trendsetters and see what's going to be "cool" next, and then mass produce it. How convenient its all on one site and posted by the outfit artists themselves. We better not let walmart's guys find this or EVERYONE will be wearing these exact outfits
They were all from lookbook.nu (the link is in the first paragraph).
