I brainstormed, made lists, asked people, searched, and couldn't come up with a good idea for what to do. I thought of sky diving, of course, but just couldn't figure out a way to make it work in the time frame, and with my meager college budget.
I decided to do something that would kill two birds with one stone. A old roommate had a birthday coming up and knew that a party wasn't planned, so for the first time in my life I planned a surprise birthday party for someone. It was great, I got in contact with friends, arranged for the house to have the party at, orchestrated a lie to make him think he was going out to dinner with his uncle, and delegated responsibility for people to bring food.
Yes, the birthday party itself was a great success. There was excellent food, good company, and lots of laughter.
After eating and opening presents we took a vote to see if people wanted to watch "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" in the theater room, or play "Murder In the Dark." Murder in the Dark won so we turned off all the lights and proceded to pretend to kill each other while creeping around in the dark. (well, that's kind of how it works anyways.) Near the end of the night I was killer and was dodging around a corner to avoid being caught. As I dodged around the corner my forehead came in contact with a girls nose and with a BAM! and a CRACK! I broke it.
I have never broken someone's nose before! How's that for doing something you've never done before.
Fortunately it was a clean crack, with limited swelling, no bleeding, and so need to have it reset or splinted.
But Still. It was a first for me.
