Rut #4-Michelle Monson

I've tried so many things and this is why when I go out to eat, I stick to the originals.  I stick to what I like because most things I try, I end up gagging them out.  I've eaten the delicacy cow tongue tacos, oysters, octopus, escargo, chicken feet, tofu, this really gross meat in pigs blood, shrimp tacos, fried plantains, nicaraguan meat, gross indian yogurt with garlic and flower petals, matte, Peruvian food, El Salvadorian food, etc.  I've had an interesting food life and since I didn't like most things I go to the favorite places which are Olive Garden (that is the only Italian place I've ever been too), Taco Bell, Los Hermanos, Cafe Rio, Zuppas; I pretty much just go to all the American places.

My day of birth was on Friday and so my boyfriend, the terrible planner that he is, did not make reservations anywhere on a Friday night, so while driving around, I finally said, lets go to Los Hermanos.  I called and made a reservation and it was only a 10 minute wait.  So we drove there and while driving there, I saw this cute little Italian place called La Dolce Vita.  As I looked through the windows, I noticed there was no line and not many people there, so my last minute homework decision impulsed my action to make my boyfriend pull into a parking stall and we walked inside.  To make this long story short, we were greeted by the most cultural of all hostesses, straight from Italy herself, she had a thick accent and was too kind.  I ended up ordering this cheesy broccoli and spinach ravioli...I'm  not a huge fan of white cheesy sauce, and I've never had broccoli and spinach ravioli.....It sounded good but disgusting at the same time.

HOWEVER IT WAS TERRIFIC AND I THINK WE SHOULD ALL SKIP CLASS ONE DAY AND GO THERE TO EAT MULTO BUONA ITALIAN FOOD!

  1. That sounds and looks good. I am not a big pasta fan myself, but would consider trying this.

  2. If you want to keep trying Italian and are ever in Salt Lake, I highly recommend "Canella's," across the street from the Leonardo. They're a great little restaurant have delicious pastas. :)
