Rut #4 New Food-Darby Miller

So tonight I went on a date and we went to a restaurant that I had never been to before. We walked in and were in a group. When we got the menu everyone starting asking, "What the heck is a muffaletta?" We tried figuring it out and finally I just said I would order it and we could figure it out! It came with the choice of a soup. I picked the one that sounded the weirdest to me, seafood gumbo! I have never had a gumbo before, I have only heard it referenced from the Disney film, "Princess and the Frog". So I got those two things. Good thing I only got a quarter sized Muffaletta because that thing was HUGE! I seriously couldn't even fit my entire mouth over it! It was as big as my entire face! I could only nibble down the sides until it got small enough I could finally take a bite out of it! It was a sandwich thing with a bunch of ground up vegetables on it, it looked like a green mush, and ham. It was yummy, the Muffaletta I guess is the bread I think? My seafood gumbo was SUPER spicy! Usually I can handle spicy stuff, but this put my mouth on fire! Good grief! And I think the only thing seafood about the whole thing was a couple shrimp that were thrown in there. I was expecting a lot more seafood stuff. But I was able to chase it all down with some free self-served soft ice cream! Yum! So yeah, that was my experience with Muffaletta and Seafood Gumbo!
