The following lyrics are less like a song and more like a mild rap. When I discovered the RUT for this week was a song I started spitting rhymes while taking a walk with my husband and offspring over the weekend. The following is what we came up with. And it’s the new nightly lullaby in our house…
Ba ba Baby Ba ba Baby
you small and tiny and straight up crazy
nothing to do and everything to see
if we could find your mute button, there could be some sanity
Enjoy this time cute baby
it’s the only time a double chin aint a sin
and even sleeping in church is a win
Ba Ba Baby Ba Ba Baby
We poor and clueless
but we gave you good genetics
and some day at youth dances you will see all the funny
you will realize good looks is money
Ba Ba Baby Ba Ba Baby
We poor students
but we are young and funny
and wont embarrass you like your grandmummy
Little girl, we won’t lie we have no clue what we are doing
That why when your dad dress’s you, you look like Halloween
Bring on the endless bottles and annoying kid shows
We’ll get you back someday with embarrassing home videos
Enjoy this time cute baby
it’s the only time drooling is allowed
and you can scream like bobby brown in a public crowd
Ba Ba Baby Ba Ba Baby
We poor and clueless
But we ain’t totally fruitless
In hip and modern we will stand
And we promise to never roll in a mini van
Ba Ba Baby Ba Ba Baby
We poor and young
but you’ll grow up on decent music
and can eat otterpops for breakfast in the summer sun.
From this experience I learned that when trying to rhyme, you end up having to be more creative. It was funny to try and think up what I want to say and somehow warping it into a line that was nothing short of tacky. One thing is for sure…This isn’t your momma’s lullaby
love this :)
ReplyDeletemy favorite line is, "and we promise to never roll in a mini van"
ReplyDeleteYa, the mini van line reminded me of the "Swagger Wagon" commercial.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea to do a lullaby!
ReplyDeleteYoull be driving a mini van soon enough. ...They are just so practical and convenient
ReplyDeletethis reminds me of Conan O'Briens lullaby skit that he does
