Anti-Rut #5 - James Taylor

Sorry for the lateness of my post, but this morning did not go at all as planned. In fact, I could have used that information on how to not get booted ever. Anyway, the hardest part of this assignment for me was figuring out a place to post my sign where people would look at it. I decided, after much searching, to put it on the street sign on the way from a south campus parking lot to campus.

I chose to do it on a subject I knew little about until I read about it in a cook book. After some more research, the facts on my info sheet should be good. I know someone will benefit if they read it. Here it is:

Ok so I know all of you are going to hate me after I tell you this

but my sweet husband is a booter. I know I know everyone hates him!

Here is the thing, I don't know how his job still exists because you think people would learn.

I ride around with him sometimes in the boot car and I am amazed when people so blatantly ignore the rules set by the property (not the booters) and then complain that they should not have gotten booted.

I, also as a fellow student sometimes feel really bad when he boots nice people, so for my how to, I did a How not to get booted in Provo.

So on Saturday during the day, my husband rode around and I went with him, with my cause, ready to educate Provo. May I also mention that this job is commission only and my husband let me do this-see booters are good people still! Anyways some I put on peoples car's when they had already been booted, next to the paper telling them they have been booted, so they can avoid it next time. And then on two VERY LUCKY cars who were parked without permits and should have gotten booted, I put my posters on their window and my hubby did not boot them!

I think people need to think twice about where they are parking, and not just think they are the exception to the rule. If you park in the wrong place, you will get booted and vice versa.

So hopefully I changed some lives by my posters, also decreasing our income in the process haha.

ps-be nice to booters, it's just a job!

How to . . .

When assigned to educate society with an educational plaque, I drew a blank for a long time. I had no idea what I could do that could potentially benefit people and also be educational. And then it happened. One day, I was driving and the guy across from me turned unexpectedly. He didn't use a blinker and it could have been dangerous for society. SO. . . I decided to educate BYU drivers on how to use a blinker. I placed the poster on a stop sign on the 4-way stop sign as you leave the Smithfield House/Richard's Building parking lot. I hope it serves its purpose and enlightens drivers, whether it is the first time they have heard of a blinker or a reminder to use it more often ;)

Rut #5 - How to read a sign

I posted this by an elevator in the Library. I'm planning on sticking a second one in the wilk when I get off work today. I think its an important message. Anyway, I posted the .jpg of the poster so you can read it and I took a picture on my phone that is absolutely awful, but at least I can prove that I actually did post it.

Rut - Harper Anderson

Sorry if it's a little hard to read, but I put this up in a bathroom right on top of two urinals. I thought of maybe putting them up by the mirror where you would wash your hands, but I figured it might be too late to remind somebody who wasn't planning on washing their hands. Anyway, if you didn't get it by now, it's a how to for washing hands. Pretty handy, and I hope it served a purpose for at least one person.

Rut #5-Rob Witt

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I love how it starts getting cooler, the leaves change colors, my birthday is celebrated, and you can't forget Halloween, it is an all around good time.

My educational plaque is inspired by the fall colors, and I decided to post up at Rock Canyon. I love Rock Canyon and can be found up the canyon at least once a week rock climbing, hiking, or running. The plaque shows three of the most common kind of tree's that change colors up Rock Canyon, with pictures of each to help hikers recognize them.
