My one find is the site unurth.com It's a collection of really really cool street art from around the world. Banksy's art, mentioned in class, sometimes shows up on this site. Some of the art is just "cool." other stuff is more like "what the heck is going on." but some of the artwork is really really clever, original, inspiring. I just think "how did they manage to pull that off?" or "Why didn't I think of that?" (again, like it class.)
Check out this space invader that was painted with a roller brush. It look like a flat picture but is really way spread out on the ground and up the walls. Weird.
I love this stuff. Its really similar to the chalk art from my post. I often wonder how long it takes to come up with something like this. Its really inspiring to think that there are so many things that our brains can put together. Its like there's all this genius trapped within the confines of our skull that we just haven't managed to tap yet.

ReplyDeleteClearly the graffiti artists in my hometown have a lot to learn.
ReplyDeleteLove it.
P.S. The website is full of crazy awesome stuff!! Your link didn't work for me, though, so:

We could do this as a class using a projector, stencil, and a dark night.
ReplyDeletethis almost reminds me of the Jonsi video for "Go Do." Has anyone seen that? It's all about paint. Check it out. Minus, ill probably post it next week since I am in love with it.
